On 16/6/2022, the "Civil Protection" Program for the new Programming Period 2021-2027 was approved by the European Commission. Its total budget amounts to 713,757,943 euros of public expenditure, of which 570,190,646 euros is the community contribution from the ERDF Fund.
The main strategy of the Program is the activation of the National Crisis Management and Risk Management Mechanism, which is the framework in which the operational, staff and supporting Civil Protection structures converge, with the aim of creating a single national civil protection system of vertical organization, which concerns the full spectrum of the risk and disaster management cycle.

The Program is structured in the following Priorities:
• Priority 01: National Database of Disaster Risks, Threats and Losses (SP1)
• Priority 02: Equipment and accompanying actions for prevention and response to natural disasters (SP2)
• Priority 03: Addressing the effects of anthropogenic risks – Protection of Public Health (SP2)
• Priority 04: Upgrading human resources skills (SP2)
